Does wearing red give you a sexual advantage? Maybe, according to a
new study which found that men find women sexier if they’re sporting a
crimson hue rather than, say, blue or green or possibly even black!
Red is the universal color of romance, passion and sex.
I see tons of women decked out in sexy outfits – but most of the
time they are black. But it makes sense that wearing red can make you
sexier. All men turn their head for a hot red sports car and a set of
luscious, red lips. Red is catches the eye.
In a series of five studies, about 150 heterosexual men rated
photographs of women framed in red, white, gray, green, or blue, or
with the woman in a red or blue shirt.
On a 7-point scale, with 1 being the least sexy and 7 a white-hot
sex goddess, the color red added about 1.25 points to the rating, say
researchers.
The study found men also were more likely to say they wanted to have sex with a woman and that they would be willing to spend more on a date if she were in red, according to the report in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
“We only found the effect for attraction, so males don’t rate
females in red as more intelligent, more likable, or as having a better
personality; they only rate her as sexier and more attractive,” says
study author Andrew Elliot, Ph.D., a professor of psychology at the
University of Rochester in New York.

There is a lot to be said for the colour of red – someone even wrote a song about it. Remember “The Lady in Red”, a great song and very evocative. I love wearing red, it makes me “feel good” and I always get compliments from my husband.

Well this seems very much true- It made me think back to my closet and my favorite dresses- most of them are red! The other half is black! The one my husband really loves is red and all the other red clothing a own are really sexy too. It’s just a very appealing color!
I read an article some time ago that stated the color red was sexually appealing to men because sub-consciously it reminds them of blood and thus their animalistic nature. I guess I just figured to most of us red=danger, no, stop, so in theory the saying “you always want what is bad for you” is true
